Dates: 19th – 23rd November 2009

Cheers:) 2009

“Cheers:)” is the first Chinese Art and Design exhibition in London of this size, with the largest number of exhibitors and the most comprehensive different forms of work. These include Fine Art, Fashion Design, Spatial Design, Multimedia Art, Communication Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, Jewellery Design and Photography. This mixture of disciplines, ranging from 2D to 4D, allows different types of media to overlap and interact with each other.

“Cheers:)” is an annual exhibition which is aiming as the leading exhibition in London for Chinese artists and designers. And all exhibited pieces will be formally published in form of a book after the exhibition.

During the exhibition, 40 pieces selected by experts and visitors will be displayed as the tour of Greater China which will be visiting the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Taipei in 2010. The China Tour is called “Reverse Current”. This is the concept of Chinese students flowing between China and the UK, just like the sea, using newly acquired cultural knowledge to stimulate new ideas and as the students return home, their new skills and ideas flow back with them. “Reverse Current” is also a metaphor of the Art and Design industry going up against the odds in the global financial crisis and recession.
